Never Flinch

Detective Izzy Janes, working in the Ohio police department in Buckeye City, receives an unsettling anonymous letter. In it, a killer threatens to murder thirteen innocent people and one guilty person – an act of twisted atonement for the wrongful death of an innocent man in prison. Izzy quickly realizes the threat is chillingly real when slips of paper bearing names are discovered in the hands of murder victims. The names belong to members of the jury who wrongly convicted the innocent prisoner on child pornography charges. Desperate for insight, Izzy turns to her friend Holly Gibney, a private investigator renowned for cracking psychological puzzles and handling the most dangerous cases. However, Holly is preoccupied with another urgent matter: she’s been hired to protect Kate McKay, a controversial feminist activist who has become the target of a religious extremist during a speaking tour. Holly not only has to try and predict where the stalker might strike next, but also to uncover the deeper motivations behind the threats.
